Shooting at Virginia Tech – Stay Safe Hokies

At 12:48 pm today the Virginia Tech web site reported a shooting at the Cage lot; since it has been confirmed that a police officer and one other person have been shot and killed on the campus.

The Virginia Tech website has described the suspect, whom is still at large, as a “white male, gray sweat pants, gray hat w/neon brim, maroon hoodie and backpack.” The suspect was also reported to be on foot and heading towards “McComas.”

All students have been told to stay inside and call 911 if the need assistance, see or know anything about the shootings.

On April 16, 2007 the Virginia Tech campus became a living nightmare as the campus fell under fire. In the 2007

shooting 33 people died. NCB Washington reports that the Virginia Tech police chief, Wendell Flinchum, was recently in Washington D.C. for a hearing with the U.S. Department of Education. Flinchum is reported to have been appealing a $55,000 fine that was levied on the school after the April 2007 shooting on campus.
